Thousands of travel bloggers all around the world work rigorously to evoke enthusiasm in people to travel. It definitely requires a lot of passion to continue exploring new places, and consistently telling or showing people about it.
I am still at a naive stage went it comes to blogging and content creation. I am not sure how much credible I am to talk about other bloggers. However, I am sure that I can share my views as a friend. But how can I be friend to so many bloggers? Am I part of any secret association of travel bloggers? No, I befriend all the travel bloggers by the virtue of having the same passion. One thing that unites all the travel bloggers is the passion to know more about some spectacular places on earth and share the experiences with others.
I follow a lot of blogs and vlogs. I enjoy travel vlogs more than blogs because vlogs are the greatest revolution in the world of travel related content creation. The reason being that it allows the viewers to be a part of the real experiences of vloggers. It is more effective and persuading than blogs.
Yet, skilled are those who know to make their blogs interesting and engaging. I want to share with you about one such blogger who can be considered one of the skilled bloggers from India.
Fernwehrahee is an amazing blog by solo female traveler, Mayuri Patel. Just as unique as the name of the blog is, the meaning is also special. In the‘About me’ section, Mayuri explains that this name is formed with the compilation of two different words from two different languages. In other words, ‘fernweh’ is a German word which means someone who is sick of being at home for a long time (exactly what I am feeling right now while practicing social distancing through this period of coronavirus outbreak). Anyways, the other part of the word is ‘rahee’ which means traveler in Hindi.

So, Fernwehrahee is an effort by a full-time working engineer who makes time out of her busy schedule to travel and share information with her followers. The blog focuses more on the travel destinations in India, but it also has few blogs dedicated to international travel like USA, Nepal and Bhutan.
The thing that I like the most is the use of mind-blowing pictures to keep the readers engaged. I should say that she is a really good photographer. The photos from the blogs about The Queen’s Step Well, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka and Mahabalipuram are simply stunning. Indeed, certain places in India are so beautiful that you cannot go wrong in clicking the right shot.
Another unique thing that I observed about her blogs is her order and organization of writing the content. It looks like she excites the readers first by describing about the place/s and couple it with some startling pictures. Now that the reader is thrilled and cannot wait to visit that place, she tells how we can reach there along with some information about food and accommodation. This way of writing is against the conventional way of writing travel blogs.
As mentioned in the ‘About me’ section, Mayuri also focuses on budget and expenditure for travel. Hence, you can observe her providing some useful budgeting tips throughout the blogs. This is really helpful for the prospective travelers as they can start planning accordingly. Here, she has managed to catch the nerves of most of the middle-class families because expenditure is the only thing that worries them before going out on a vacation.
As a result of her uniqueness, she has been also referred in the list of top 24 Indian travel bloggers by TravelTriangle in 2018.
Hence, I can say that this blog is worth following. As a beginner in writing blogs about tourism in India, I believe that I can learn certain skills from Mayuri’s blogs. I wish her all the best for her future blogs.
I look forward to explore more stories of unique travel story tellers. Alongside, I will also share with you what makes such stories different, and what we can learn from them. This review blog post is my attempt in helping you grow along with me.
So, stay tuned and watch out for my next blog post.
Till then, stay safe and healthy. Don’t stress out through these difficult times.
Be Happy!
